Must-Haves while Hiking with Kids

Whether you are spending time in your backyard or hiking the trails, we’ve got you covered for your homeopathic first aid kit.

Here are six remedies to always have on hand that are safe enough for children and just effective for adults! These are easy to slip in your first aid kit or in our Pocket/Travel Kits we offer for convenient portable homeopathy storage.

 SIX REMEDIES FOR THE OUTDOORS

  1. Arnica: ideal for bumps, bruises, sprains, strains, and falls. Depending on the severity of the injury, taking Arnica 1-3 times a day should improve the injury to a more comfortable state.  https://taprootsva.com/shop/ols/products/arnica-montana
  2. Apis: for stings or bites from any insect rendering redness, itchiness, with a hot burning feeling. Watery secretions from the site are common with Apis as well.  https://taprootsva.com/shop/ols/products/apis-mellifica
  3. Arsenicum album: upset stomachs typically from catching a mild bug, experiencing food poisoning, or having mild anxiety.  https://taprootsva.com/shop/ols/products/arsenicum-album-6c-30c-200c
  4. Calendula Cream or Ointment: applied topically to scrapes. Always make sure the area is properly cleaned prior to application. https://taprootsva.com/shop/ols/products/calendula-cream  https://taprootsva.com/shop/ols/products/calendula-ointment
  5. Ledum: for puncture wounds from stepping on a sharp object as well as taking an elbow or baseball to the eye resulting in a black eye. Ledum is also an excellent choice for bug bites when Apis doesn’t fit the symptoms, as Ledum bites feel cold to the touch and Apis feels hot.  https://taprootsva.com/shop/ols/products/ledum-palustre
  6. Rhus tox: poison ivy rashes. This remedy can also be used for sprains and strains that are stiff but improve with continued movement.  https://taprootsva.com/shop/ols/products/rhus-toxicodendron-30c-200c-1m

All of these can be purchased in 30c or 200c potencies. Follow directions on the label of your remedy. Always consult your physician about the severity of your condition as it may require medical diagnosis, intervention, and/or monitoring.

We hope you feel more confident packing your homeopathic remedies in your first aid kit for your next outdoor adventure!
